Painted Dresser Revamp!

Here's another simple dresser refinishing project.

My husband's bachelor dresser needed a makeover in a serious way. It was brown. It was ugly. It was water damaged.

You see? Ugly.

Time to refurbish that dresser! Elephant Gray was the paint color choice, with accents of Brilliant White. With a little PINspiration (which my husband really liked), I chose to add a white pinstripe around the drawers and top.

This was seriously SO easy! Paint it your solid color (gray). Once it dries, tape off some squares and paint them white.

And there's the finished beauty. I love it. I love, love, love it.
Next up: MY Dresser :)

Happy DIYing!

little dresser, turned blue

This little dresser is plain wood no more! It is now fit for a sporty little boy's room.

Here is a close up of some of the drawer designs. I took some oops paint from the local home improvement store and used it to paint the base. Then using wallpaper boarder and spray adhesive, affixed it to the sides and top drawer of the dresser. The paper was a little large for the drawer fronts, so it was cut to the right size and a red and white boarder were painted to match the original boarders. Then a few pieces of sports equipment were cut and glued over the edge to make it feel more authentic. As a finishing touch, I added some of the blue paint to the edges of the balls, and such. Thus making a cohesive collage. Oh and the knobs got a little red paint along with a layer of clear varnish too!

Pine wood Derby display

Need a home for those super cute cub scout pine wood derby cars? Here's an idea. Use a plate stacker that is supposed to sit in the cupboard. I turned my sideways and mounted it on the wall with screws. Then, I just placed the cars between the pegs.

I got my rack at the dollar store, so it cost $1. This a great little repurposing idea.

Lovely little wood pile

Here in the land of perpetual sunshine we have little need of a wood pile. Yet in the off chance that the weather gets cold, it is lovely to have. We have had a cold weather system blow through the Phoenix area and had a good reason to use our fire place.

I have found that there is a trick to chopping wood.
Have your big-ol-boy do it! Ha! He gets a kick out of chopping wood because it is a novelty. Isn't it lovely that we can still use our teens for manual labor!

Hazzahh.... it is fire time!
